La cornue installation & setup: Overview
La cornue installation & setup — this page covers the causes, symptoms, safe checks, and repair-cost guidance drawn from La Cornue owner documentation and certified service records.
A La Cornue appliance performs to its full potential only when installed to the manufacturer's exact specifications. These are not mass-produced appliances dropped into a standard cabinet opening — the CornuFé 150 cm weighs over 200 kg, the Château requires bespoke cabinetry clearances, and the vault oven needs precise gas pressure to achieve its legendary dome cooking results. Professional installation protects both your safety and your warranty.
What Professional La Cornue Installation Covers
- Pre-installation site survey to verify clearances to combustibles, floor load capacity, and cabinet dimensions — La Cornue's wider models require careful planning
- Gas connection with dedicated shutoff, approved high-pressure flex connector, and manifold pressure verification to La Cornue's specification
- 240-volt electrical connection with correct wire gauge, breaker sizing, and ground verification for dual-fuel and electric models
- La Cornue commissioning: each cooking mode is tested, oven temperature is verified against specification, and the first cook cycle is supervised
- Range hood venting: La Cornue hoods are configured for the duct run or recirculating installation at your site
- Gas type conversion where required: La Cornue appliances are factory-configured for natural gas or LPG and conversion requires the correct orifice kit and technician procedure
Why La Cornue Installation Differs
The CornuFé series requires a dedicated gas circuit at La Cornue's specified pressure — not just "gas pressure." The dual-fuel models draw significant current and need a properly rated dedicated circuit. The Château Vault Oven's dome burner must be set to the correct gas flow rate to produce the even, radiant heat that makes vault cooking unique — too high or too low and the results are compromised. These are technician-only procedures that go far beyond a standard appliance hookup.
Gas Type Conversion
La Cornue appliances ship configured for one gas type. If your home uses a different type, conversion is mandatory — incorrect gas configuration produces yellow flames, incomplete combustion, and carbon monoxide risk. Conversion uses La Cornue's factory-supplied orifice kits and is performed only by certified technicians as part of the installation service.
Transparent Pricing
Installation pricing depends on the appliance type and site conditions. Single-appliance installation starts from $325. Whole-kitchen La Cornue installation packages are available with multi-appliance discounts.
