Recall Notice: CornuFé Range Gas Valve Seal Degradation

Recall Reference: LC-2024-GV-001  |  Date Issued: March 14, 2024

Affected Models

This recall affects La Cornue CornuFé 90, CornuFé 110, and CornuFé 150 dual fuel and gas ranges manufactured between January 2022 and September 2023. Affected units bear serial numbers in the range CF22001000 through CF23095000, located on the rating plate affixed to the left interior side panel of the storage drawer cavity.

Issue Description

La Cornue has identified a potential degradation of the primary gas valve inlet seal in a subset of affected units. Under prolonged exposure to high ambient kitchen temperatures, the elastomeric seal compound may harden and develop micro-fractures, creating a pathway for trace gas leakage at the valve body. Although leakage volumes observed in testing have been below immediately hazardous thresholds, any uncontrolled gas release poses a risk of fire or explosion in enclosed spaces.

Consumer Remedy

Consumers should immediately stop using the affected range if they detect any odor of gas when the appliance is off. La Cornue will provide a free in-home service call in which an authorized technician will inspect and replace the gas valve assembly at no charge to the consumer. Parts and labor are fully covered under this recall program.

To schedule service, contact La Cornue Customer Support at 1-800-522-6776 or email [email protected], providing your model number and serial number. Do not attempt to repair the valve yourself. If you smell gas, evacuate the premises and call your gas utility provider immediately.
