Recall Notice: Convection Oven Fan Blade Separation Risk

Recall Reference: LC-2023-CF-021  |  Date Issued: December 5, 2023

Affected Models

This recall covers La Cornue wall-mounted Convection Oven models CO-60 and CO-76 manufactured between July 2021 and August 2023. Serial numbers CO21070300 through CO23082200 are affected. The serial plate is located on the left side of the oven cavity interior, visible when the door is open.

Issue Description

La Cornue has identified a fatigue crack risk in the hub-to-blade joint of the convection fan impeller used in the affected oven models. A machining tolerance deviation at the fan manufacturer’s facility resulted in hub bore dimensions slightly below specification, creating residual tensile stress at the blade root. After repeated high-temperature cycling, this stress concentration can propagate to a through-crack, with the possibility of a blade segment detaching from the spinning impeller. Blade separation can damage the oven cavity lining, block the air circulation baffle, and in rare cases project fragments toward the oven door seal.

Consumer Remedy

If you hear an unusual grinding, vibration, or rattling sound from the rear oven wall during convection operation, discontinue convection mode and schedule service immediately. La Cornue will replace the fan impeller assembly at no cost to the consumer.

Call 1-800-522-6776 or email [email protected] to book your free repair appointment. The fan assembly replacement is a standard service procedure performed through the rear access panel and does not require oven removal from its installation cavity.
