Annual Gas Appliance Inspection Advisory

Annual gas appliance inspection advisory: Overview

Annual gas appliance inspection advisory — this page covers the causes, symptoms, safe checks, and repair-cost guidance drawn from La Cornue owner documentation and certified service records.

Annual Gas Appliance Safety Inspection

La Cornue strongly recommends that all gas-fueled appliances — including ranges, cooktops, rangetops, and ovens — receive a comprehensive safety inspection by a qualified technician at least once per year. Annual inspections are a key element of the preventive maintenance program for any high-performance cooking appliance and help ensure continued safe, efficient operation.

What an Annual Inspection Should Include

A complete annual inspection of a La Cornue gas appliance should cover: leak testing of all gas connections and valve bodies using an electronic combustible gas detector; verification of burner operating pressures at minimum and maximum settings; inspection and cleaning of all burner orifices, ports, and venturi tubes; functional testing of all flame supervision thermocouples; inspection of igniter electrode condition and spark gap; verification of oven thermostat calibration accuracy; inspection of door seals and gaskets; and confirmation that all safety interlocks and automatic re-ignition systems function correctly.

Scheduling Service

La Cornue’s authorized service network includes technicians trained specifically on the company’s French-manufactured valve bodies, precision burner assemblies, and enameled cast iron components. Using a non-authorized technician risks incorrect calibration of the precision gas system and may void the appliance warranty. Contact La Cornue Customer Support at 1-800-522-6776 or [email protected] to locate an authorized service provider in your area and schedule your annual inspection.
